Update from Major David Miller, MOWG/PAD

- Busy day, two additional levees have been breached northeast of Winfield, MO

- GA8 and 182 from KC flown into Spirit Airport this morning. Three sorties flown today: (1) GA8 by Winkert with State Rep Schieffer, (2) 182 by Morris/Main/Grupenhagen, (3) 182 sortie being flown now by Ranson/Szacha/Moffat

- Flood photos being put into WMIRS, a slow and painful process but FEMA really likes them according to Lt. Col. Randy Fuller.

- CAP personnel interviewed by Lincoln County Journal and local Fox affiliate (Channel 2)

- Reporter Betsy Bruce of local CBS affiliate (KMOV channel 4) requesting CAP interview (not happened yet per Lt. Col. Carolyn Rice as of 1715 hours today).

- Gov. Blunt will arrive in Winfield tomorrow at approx. noon. Personnel in Winfield have been told he wants to meet with us (CAP). I have been in touch with the Governor's office to try to coordinate same, contact is Ms. Jessica Winschel (573-751-3816). Interestingly, this is the same person I worked with to get the signing event and photo op with the Gov. last fall.

- Second media release sent to the same newspaper, TV and radio venues. Now published online at the St. Louis Post Dispatch website at:

http://www.stltoday.com/pr/sports/PR06190801221253

- Mentioned again in today's SEMA Situation Report, 9am issue.

- Mentioned in this morning's Lincoln County EMA situation report (email).

- Have cancelled my Whiteman AFB Tour trip with Spirit of St. Louis Composite Squadron scheduled for tomorrow, will be onsite at Winfield all day to work with media and Gov's visit. Still plan on serving as MIO for the graded SAREX on Saturday.

V/R,
David
