Three Wings Coordinate Efforts

North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota Wings continue to
support the flood relief efforts in north eastern North
Dakota. With aircraft and aircrews from all three states the
battle rages on. Flying in support of the State of North
Dakota, the crews were tasked with aerial imaging of the
confluences of several rivers along with survey of the Red
River in the Grand Forks, North Dakota area.
Mission Base was opened at 0800 hours with two sorties
assigned at the time. Units involved in the operations
include: From North Dakota; Grand Forks Composite Squadron,
South Dakota :Brookings Composite Squadron, South Dakota
Wing Headquarters, Sioux Falls Composite Squadron,
Minnesota; Hutchinson Composite Squadron, Tri-County Senior
Squadron, Red Wing Composite Squadron, Duluth Composite
Squadron. Total personnel number around 20 at this time.
Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the official auxiliary of the U.S.
Air Force and has three main missions; Emergency Services,
Cadet Programs and Aerospace Education. CAP is a non-profit,
volunteer organization with approximately 60,000 personnel
nationwide, CAP performs 80% of the ground search and rescue
conducted in the United States.
